Native Plant Seminar & Sale – August

Each August, Irvine hosts this popular annual event featuring noted experts in the field of native horticulture. The seminar provides an opportunity for homeowners, garden club and native plant society members, nursery and landscape professionals, land managers and others to increase their knowledge about native vegetation, sustainable practices, and the conservation of native landscapes. The Native Plant Sale features the region’s finest native  nurseries and provides an opportunity to learn more about species native to the Piedmont region, and to purchase a wide selection of these plants.

Pumpkins on the Green – October

Pumpkins on the Green, is a casual “un-gala” style event to benefit Irvine Nature Center, and spotlight the Urban Education Program and our unique partnership with Baltimore City Public Schools. Guests will enjoy a casual evening of delicious food from Catering by Carlton, an “Irvine” silent auction, and dancing to the music of the Jody Westerlund band. During this event, Irvine Nature Center’s prestigious “Olivia Irvine Dodge” award is also presented. The event will serve as the kick off for our annual fall harvest festival, PumpkinFest.

PumpkinFest – October

Irvine’s annual fall harvest festival, PumpkinFest is a fun event for families and communities to celebrate the delights of the fall season. Each October, hundreds of families gather at Irvine to enjoy a day of music, food, and fun. This year, free activities like scarecrow making, puppet shows, pony rides, hay rides, arts and more will be included in the admission fee. At an additional cost, visitors may shop the wares of some of the region’s most talented artisans. Attendees can also expect to join Irvine’s naturalists for storytime, meet the animals presentations, and nature walks. Pumpkins are in ample supply, so that visitors can take home a bit of the season when they leave.
