Trails

Winter trail at Caves Valley (snow) (4342)Natural areas throughout Irvine's 116 acres allow for lush outdoor classrooms where educational activities take place surrounded by nature.  Miles of trails of various levels of difficulty provide visitors access to the diverse features located throughout the site.  Nestled in a hill near the main nature center building, Irvine's amphitheater seats 60 and provides space for heightened outdoor learning experiences.  Demonstration gardens attract wildlife, and create opportunities for teaching about water quality, food production and how to create healthy habitats for animals.

As you hike our trails, we invite you to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature you experience along the way.  Take a walk down to our Aviary to visit our barred owl, screech owls and opposum.  Next, have a seat in our wildlife blind and quietly observe animals feeding while being hidden from their view.  When you reach our Gazebo Overlook of Caves Valley, you will enjoy gazing across the meadow and to the treeline below.  And don't forget to experience our Native American site and outdoor classroom before taking a walk in our Woodland Garden.  We would like for you to take ownership of our 116-acre property as we do.  After all - this is Your Place to Explore Nature.

Please, no pets, bikes or cell phones on the trails.
