Irvine Nature Center Hosts Habitat Stewards™ Training To Encourage Wildlife Conservation  First NWF Certified Training Program In MarylanD

Owings Mills, MD (June 15, 2009) – This fall Irvine Nature Center will host its seventh Habitat Stewards™ program, a highly acclaimed training series created by the National Wildlife Federation® (NWF). Individuals who complete this program will become “certified” Habitat Stewards™ and will be equipped with the knowledge to help residents in their communities transform their backyards into wildlife habitats. Irvine Nature Center, located in Owings Mills, Maryland (Baltimore metro area), was the first organization in the state of Maryland certified by NWF to offer this program.

All Things Wings Exhibit at Irvine Nature Center Showcases Student Talent

OWINGS MILLS, MD (March 26, 2009) – On Friday, March 27th from 6 – 8 p.m., Irvine Nature Center will host an artist reception introducing “All Things Wings: 1st Annual Student Art Exhibition.” The exhibit featuring artwork from Baltimore City and County School students ages 6 – 12 and will run through April 7.  The art work will be exhibited in the Fern Room of Irvine Nature Center’s new green building in Owings Mills, MD.  Students from the following schools will exhibit their work: Deer Park Middle Magnet, Friends School of Baltimore, Hereford Middle School, New Town High School, Parkville High School, Perry Hall Middle School, Pine Grove Middle School, Ridgley Middle School, and Sparrows Point High School will create their interpretive work based on the attributes of native animals (birds, insects, and bats).

Irvine Nature Center Celebrates Its Grand Opening Weekend at New Location

OWINGS MILLS, MD (September 9, 2008) -  Irvine Nature Center, the thirty-three year old environmental education organization formerly located in Stevenson Maryland, will celebrate the opening of its new location this weekend with an extensive Grand Opening Celebration.  The weekend will feature a variety of activities, from a gala on Friday, September 12 to a two-day family fun event on Saturday, September 13 and Sunday September 14.  Irvine officials expect to attract 5,000 people throughout the weekend.

Irvine Nature Center Presents First Annual Your Green Home Event

OWINGS MILLS, MD (November 3, 2008) – Irvine Nature Center will host its first annual Your Green Home event on Saturday November 15 and Sunday November 16 from 12 – 4 p.m. each day.  The event will present an opportunity for home owners to learn from the experts on how to create green or environmentally friendly spaces in their homes.  The program includes two afternoons of presentations, exhibits, short films, building tours and “buying green” from the Irvine Nature Store.  The event is free and open to the public.

Irvine Nature Center Hosts PumpkinFest

OWINGS MILLS, MD (October 6, 2008) - Irvine Nature Center will host PumpkinFest, a family harvest festival, on Saturday October, 18th at its new location at 11201 Garrison Forest Road in Owings Mills, MD.  The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (The rain date is Sunday, October 19th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)  Parking is $15 per car.
