BACKGROUND:

Sugar making has been an early spring activity for centuries. This program focuses on teaching students how to recognize maple trees, how sap moves within trees and how sap is collected and made into syrup and candy. Students help collect sap and learn how sap is boiled down to a consumable form in an evaporator.
