Partner OrganizationsAlliance for the Chesapeake Bay is a regional nonprofit organization that builds and fosters partnerships to protect and to restore the Bay and its rivers. Chesapeake Bay Trust is a private, nonprofit grantmaking organization created by the Maryland General Assembly in 1985 to promote public awareness and participation in the restoration and protection of the Chesapeake Bay and its Maryland tributaries. Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council is a coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to researching, promoting, and educating the public about conservation-based gardening and landscaping practices in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Jones Falls Watershed Association is a volunteer-driven grassroots organization started in 1997 to protect and restore the Jones Falls and its tributaries. Maryland Native Plant Society uses education, research, and community service to increase awareness and appreciation of native plants and their habitats, leading to their conservation and restoration. National Environmental Education Week is a coordinated effort by NEETF (National Environmental Education Training Foundation) to bring attention to all of the great work being done by organizations throughout the nation in promoting environmental stewardship. Butterflies of Baltimore is a resource of the USGS and includes detailed information, including resources of additional reading. Dendrology homepage at Virginia Tech is where to find tree identification fact sheets on approximately 800 species of trees, as well as lots of other tree information. Plant Guides are a service of the USDA and include downloadable plant guides and fact sheets. Wildfinder, a service of the World Wildlife Fund, is a a map-driven, searchable database of more than 26,000 species worldwide, with a powerful search tool that allows users to discover where species live or explore wild places to find out what species live there.
