Volunteer Naturalists Volunteer naturalists are needed to lead walks for children in Pre-K through 5th grades. Share your love of nature with young children while gaining leadership and instructional skills and improving your natural history knowledge. Let us train you to lead environmental educational walks for local school groups.
Schoolyard Discovery: Urban Education Program The Schoolyard Discovery urban education program is recruiting interested volunteers to help train high school students in hands-on nature activities and prepare them to teach the activities to elementary students, and to help install habitat gardens on elementary school grounds. Activities are conducted on Baltimore City school grounds during the school day.
Summer Fellowship Program: Urban Education Program Irvine Nature Center needs your help for our Summer Fellowship Program. Make a difference in the life of a child! Help Irvine teach outdoor nature activities to elementary age students at recreation centers in Baltimore City.
Summer Nature Camp Counselors-In-Training (CIT) Volunteers age 15 and older are needed to serve as CITs for Irvine's Summer Nature Camp programs. Weeklong day camp sessions beginning in June. Must be self-motivated, flexible, responsible, and enjoy working with children. Community service hours are granted.
Gardeners Irvine’s garden is seeking volunteers to water, weed, and maintain its appearance each week. This is a great opportunity for a young family or an avid gardener.
Fairs Please consider joining our Community Fairs Committee. Volunteers are needed to represent Irvine at local community fairs and festivals. Please contact Carin if you are able to spend a morning or afternoon at a community organization and represent Irvine. Dates forthcoming.
